Think Through the Gospel of Matthew - DAY 2 WISE MEN WORSHIP
Matthew 2:11 - And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The little boy was no more than seven years old. It was time for Church, and he wanted to take his teddy bear, whom he had always called Frank. His parents protested, but he insisted that he had to take Frank, today, and they finally relented.
When the offering plates were passed, he put the teddy bear in the plate, along with a few coins.
Later, when asked about it, he simply said, "Well, the Bible says the wise men brought Jesus gifts gold, and frankincense and myrrh. I didn’t have any gold,
and I don’t know what myrrh is. So I just gave Frank and cents!
The little boy, only seven years old, shows so much wisdom here. Even though he didn’t have gold, and he didn’t know what myrrh was, he gave what he had. It is clear that it came from his heart. Wise men still worship the king.
It has been said that the wise men traveled a great distance for as long as two years to Worship the King. However, they knew He was worth it. How much will you go through to Worship Christ?
How much is Jesus worth to you?
